Prinovis now ordering only PEFC- and FSC-certified paper
Effective immediately, Europe’s largest printing company, Prinovis, is changing its purchasing policy for its own paper. From now on it will only buy paper that is certified under the PEFC and FSC sustainability standards. This decision is the result of improved transparency in the company’s procurement processes and is based on an even closer cooperation with suppliers from the paper industry.
Legal takeover is approved: Prinovis becomes wholly owned subsidiary of Bertelsmann
The EU Commission has approved for the remaining 25.1 percent of shares in Prinovis, belonging to the former partner Axel Springer, to be taken over by Bertelsmann. As a result, Prinovis is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Bertelsmann.
Prinovis Environmental Report: Emission of Pollutants Further Reduced
As shown in the new “Score” environmental report released today, Prinovis has continued to improve its life cycle assessment. Prinovis publishes its key figures regarding energy usage, greenhouse gases, waste and water consumption in this report. “We see professional environmental management as an important part of running our printing plants,” explains Bertram Stausberg in the editorial of the report. “We are proud of it, and it is a key part of our company’s success.”
Bertelsmann Creates Europe’s Biggest Printing Group
Bertelsmann is forming Europe’s largest network of printing companies. The international media, services and education group is merging its offset and gravure printing activities under a shared organizational umbrella, effective January 1, 2016. Bertelsmann Printing Group, the new division, will have revenues of €1.7 billion, and nearly 9,000 employees.
Prinovis UK has been successful in gaining ISO 50001 certification at its Liverpool print plant, emphasizing the company’s commitment to continuous improvements in both energy efficiency and environmental management.
Prinovis Dresden Successfully Completes First Offset Job
Prinovis Dresden has completed its first offset print job for a longstanding client, K-Mail Order (Klingel group). This concludes the test phase for the newly installed machines, and offset production in Dresden is now fully up and running.
