Stephan Krauss

studied Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University. In addition, as a graduate engineer, he took a course of study in Business in the U.S., at Indiana University, which he completed in 1988 with an MBA. A professional career followed immediately thereafter, beginning in 1988, with the position of Assistant to the Board for Dr. Gunter Thielen, currently the Chairman of the Board of Bertelsmann AG, in the worldwide media enterprise's Printing and Manufacturing division. Already as early as 1989, Krauss was appointed Manager of Print Services in Gütersloh, and in 1990 he was appointed the Manager of Book and Calendar Order Placement at Mohndruck Graphische Betriebe. A year later, Krauss moved to the Himberg area of Vienna, where he was the Managing Director of the Wiener Verlag from 1991 through 1995. In 1996, Krauss became Managing Director of maul-belser Medienverbund in Nuremberg, and a year later was the Chairman of the Management Board.

In addition, Krauss has been a member of the board of directors at Bertelsmann AG since September 2002. As Prinovis CEO, he is responsible for the operational integration of the printing plants at the Prinovis locations Ahrensburg, Darmstadt, Dresden, Itzehoe and Nuremberg, as well as the newly established printing plant in Liverpool.
