Prinovis UK gains ISO 50001 certification

Prinovis UK has been successful in gaining ISO 50001 certification at its Liverpool print plant, emphasizing the company’s commitment to continuous improvements in both energy efficiency and environmental management.

ISO 50001:2011, the international energy management system standard, aims to reduce energy consumption by improving efficiency. It specifies requirements applicable to energy use and consumption, including measurement, documentation and reporting, design and procurement practices for equipment, systems, processes and personnel that contribute to energy performance.

The Liverpool print plant, which has been ISO 14001 certified since 2009 and became the first gravure printer in the UK to achieve the EU Ecolabel standard in 2014, continues to make significant improvements, which this year includes the installation of a new highly efficient steam fired chiller to its Combined Heat and Power (CHP) system .

Commenting on the certification, Richard Gray, Managing Director of Prinovis UK, said “At Prinovis UK we are extremely proud of our environmental record and continue to make serious investment in this area”.

Areas commended by the auditors included the large number of energy saving projects already completed at the Liverpool plant, as well as the excellent recording of energy management data and the excellent support from Senior Management.

Richard Gray added, “The ISO 50001 certification is a glowing endorsement of our commitment to improve our energy efficiency”.

All German Prinovis sites have been ISO 50001 certified since 2012. Furthermore, all Prinovis sites meet the requirements of the EU “Energy Efficiency Directive (2012/27/EU).”
